Again, Fredrick Kagan comes to defend the AEI plan for building a new Iraq. He states that by going house to house securing the neighborhoods in Bagdad. Kagen says the people of Iraq want peace. I want to see the women and the children in this area prosper and see their streets secured and safely rebuilt. We need to educate the youth providing a safe and secure Iraq will eventually benefit everyone globally. But the military hasn’t been able to provide security after clearing neighborhoods. Without supporting the community after they clear it we leave the people to endure another takeover by radical groups. Kagen knows after the people feel secure the other Democratic processes can exist.
We have created a quagmire in Iraq. We cannot turn our back on the people of Iraq. The people of Iraq faced Saddam Hussein, they were restricted from the global community, because of their leader, but they were stable. The American people stood back and watched President Bush justify going to war in this region. We didn't choose to go to war? Congress wrote an open check. The majority of Americans didn't respond when they should have is the real reason. Do we have a responsibility to the Iraq people now? In today’s world, with our reputation in the dirt, we need to be proactive and be the world power we say we are. I agree, Bush and his greedy bunch put us in this position. But I am an Accountable American! We have a terrible reputation for destroying nations then leaving. We are turning our back on the rebuilding, there by teaching the children of destroyed neighborhoods we do not come in peace. If we leave, we are the enemy to these women and children. They will be easily recruited for terror cells, those who plot against the American People. We need to listen to our Generals for a change. It would be nice to see how the Chain of Command would react to this War! We also need to hold President Bush, and Vice President Cheney accountable for going to war in this region for profit. He didn’t have any proof before he went into Iraq, there were WMD. The U.N. wouldn’t back him, and he had to resort to the statement, “You are either with us or against us” As an American, I felt, I had to support him, or I would be Non-American. I should have stood up and said something then. But I don’t have a time machine. We need to show the global community we are responsible for our administration, and we will hold them accountable.
Kagen insists laying out this plan is the only way we can secure Iraq, unfortunately I agree. We, the People in America have created a problem in Iraq, according to the laws of war, we must assist in the rebuilding of this country. To rebuild, we must secure. By securing this area, our troops will work hand in hand with the Iraqi's clearing homes in Bagdad. Should we secure at least one area in Iraq before we leave, Yes. I think we should assist the people to see safety and stability in one area, it could grow. Democrats are willing to sustain troop levels. That's very dangerous to the military. The military needs to determine what it needs to win in this region. The troops need help now. Can we stop this Jawboning, and get down to business. Look at the situation outside the box. The women and children in this region depend on us for security, what could that hurt. If we leave with our tails between our legs, we are showing the fanatics‘. I don't want to see the people in Iraq, who depend on us, the ones who like us, to turn against us because they don't think I care. I want to stay long enough to ask them their opinions on the matter. We have seen this ethnical cleansing before with Saddam Hussein, if we leave it will be open season on those who supported us.
