Assignment#5
The Allegory of the Cave is still a legend in storytelling. We cannot help but walk with blinders on in light of the modern American Dream while it comes full circle. The media keeps most people on the edge of their seats, why do Americans who call their selves American’s continuing to make the same mistakes repeatedly, especially those who claim they know all, see all, and trust all. We all find ourselves looking at shadows against a wall from a distant shining light. The Republic is my favorite story historically speaking. The Allegory of the Cave requires us to ponder ourselves into a pickle. Here we have two people Plato and Glaucon discussing story or an allegory. It goes like this, people are held prisoner in a cave, in front of them and behind them a fire burns, they are forced to sit in shadows. Plato’s concepts of form are incredible works of art. The way he describes reality is an actual object is what it is, or an ox is an ox. The prisoners only see reflection on the wall. An ox might have several shapes according to what angle of the light hits the ox, as the shadows distort the ox. They have names for all the things too, but for each individual the shadows is different so to each person an ox might be a cow, or a donkey, or might resemble a something as different as a jar. Compare it to a modern day chat room; the participants are blind to each other while they describe their perceptions and events, even change their identity. Plato describes a prisoner who looks towards the light, first the glare is difficult but he continues to look and eventually he see’s for the first time reality as it is. This combination of words is heavy. The author thought about what he was speaking about and wrote it reflecting real art. As the prisoner pursues the light, he understands the shadows he once seen were not the same as objects he previously seen, but the reality of the shadows. Things become clearer as they do in the light. A prisoner gradually come to the determination he wanted to be in the light. Another prisoner is drug out of the cave and held in the light. The prisoner forced from the comfort of his “Cave” obviously hates it there. He compares reality with shadows. This I love. The contrast between the two is wide open for deep thought. We can all see what we want to see, but in the light, there is no hiding from reality. It exists; your perception of that reality is what you choose to make it. The trick to the trade is to make people feel they have reached this idea by their selves. Wish I had that trait. I am more like the bull in the china shop not doubt. Sorry! I get excited when I gain some wisdom ok! I like to spread it around, share the knowledge. I’m working on it ok! I also know I must improve my techniques. First, I have to change my perception. People, like me, begin the momentum and send it to the mainstream. I understand why most people are scared and don’t seek the truth. As you age, your position in life changes and you must become sensitive to the light, so you can promote thought and not merely impose thought.
I pity the American people who rely on the Sophists to provide them with the reality of the situation. It irritates me to no end what’s happening to the America Media. I hate me for allowing me to be sucked in, how’s that for accountability. We are all prisoners’ in the cave more so now than ever. These jokers on T.V. are ruining people lives. They want to come into our living rooms and just be our friends. It’s pathetic what lengths they sink to. Occasionally I’ll turn the television news on to see if it the same garbage and yes, it is. It just gets my goat to see them mocking us, The America People. They own our government; they tell us we will fight over oil instead of seeking peace and feeding the world. I remember when M-TV first started. It was propaganda free, so I thought. Bill Clinton later used that medium to reach hundreds and thousands of children just barely old enough to vote, great move on his part. This story is very deep, and there is similarities to this great nation; is that how it actually works? That’s why I love the story so much; it describes the setting for The Republic. The story itself requires reading several times. In addition, just when you think you know what it’s about when you read it again it teaches you something else. Deep! I’m discouraged about the fear factor in our nation today. I’m also frightened about the constitution not making in out of congress alive, after our latest governmental authoritarian attempt to overthrow the American People. We are in dire need of change in a positive direction. I feel that even thought the roof is shot, there’s no need to tear the whole house down. There is hope or at least that what I tell myself to keep up moral! Three cheers for democracy. I’ve heard that democracy and republics have similarities. My experience from a democracy is power, greed and corruption. I don’t know why I say that, maybe there isn’t any hope. Can you sense my frustrations with the current state of affairs? Let’s move on to the current state of affairs in the school systems.
The difference between Plato’s Republic education was he believed you couldn’t teach an empty mind. That’s statement is confusing. He felt you could only teach those who wanted to be taught. The soul should attain towards a state of mind which is seeking knowledge. At least in America we have a choice of what we will learn after we have reached a certain age according to the law. The early years manipulate the youth. After that the masses have been marched through the pickle plant, we call public schooling, and sent out for seasoning (Carl‘s Jr.) in the real world. Ah, we all know what to do with pickles? Wishing won’t help us now will it! For those of us who keep free thought open, we will continue to help remove the blinder of those who need our help. Teaching our children how to become free thinkers too soon will reap ill effects. The school system will attempt to drug them, label them, and make them sit still. Plato would compare our current education systems students as prisoners. Who are we, the parents, to force our views and opinions upon others children? Why should we teach our children to respect science and question religion? Why can’t I require my children to read about quantum physics and consciousness? My son learned about black holes and actually made some predictions about time and space when he was 8 years old. He started writing this year, and his stuff amazes me. I’m proud of him, and I regret not having enough money to supply him with a decent scientific school who could address his personal questions, in relation to his home education. To me, not knowing about the universe and the theories with science and evolution by graduation is a bad thing. The religious fiends took my educational values and challenged the idea there is something bigger in the universe, we can’t expect our teacher to talk about it. Many children suffer this same fate with the school system. The teachers can only do so much, and when the parents get involved most often times they mess things up. You child is going to grow up, and they will grow away, its human nature. You must be responsible to nurture educational values. It’s easy to understand why the Plato upheld education across the board. Sometimes however, you must remind yourself, a good swift kick in the butt is a learned behavior.
What’s a Soul? Good question it’s hard to explain. Plato’s “soul” is something we all have, but it needs to be nurtured to achieve the light. The light is all that is good and true, therefore you would achieve the light only after you have lived an honorable life; do no harm in other words. There would be no need to debate, but some one is inevitably going to ask? Is this right? Then some know it all is going to reply, “Sure Buddy, every body who’s anybody does it that way” Hence the Shawn Hannity’s of the world! His soul was purchased dirt-cheap! I have a soul; at least I am working on achieving a soul according to Plato. Plato’s work is pleasing to read. Its goal is not to manipulate us like religion. There for it is self seeking knowledge, accountability and change; refreshing like a breeze. My soul is worthy of self-seeking knowledge, accountability, and change. However, my soul is willing, but my body is in control, and my mind thinks this whole thing is very strange! Never mind! My work reads much like these scholars, is perception going to be lost and reflected upon by only by our distant light?
We need more artists like Plato. His idea of The Republic are overwhelming. The idea we could all achieve greatness in just changing perception and looking towards reality. There would be no manipulators in an ideal world. He’s a Dreamer, and there’s nothing wrong with that. So long as your dreaming will do no harm, does not include manipulation or slavery, and will improve peoples perceptions. Some religious sects live by this philosophy; they turn their back on those who don’t bend to their perception of righteousness. Wherever there’s a dream there a generation of change, the children are the one left to carry on with the elders dreams with all its rights and wrongs. Moreover, their perception is subject to change as well. Neo, in the Matrix, left a perfect world, when he found out the reality was not his; only the perception of what he seen was his. The Republic is very deep, I enjoyed reading it again.

Small introduction again, I'm a retired USNR mother of six, 2 natural born, and 4 born straight from the heart. Conscious thought is mandatory, at this phase in my life, it keeps me sane, whatever that means.
The mind is a wonderful device always seeking for mastery of the world in which it relates. I have yet to stop wondering about the world. A natural born Philosopher? I don’t know. I jumped right into life had a couple of beautiful children. I missed college, several times, while purposely living in the moment. I wondered a lot about the world, yet it controlled me. Others would say, “I didn’t have the courage to take life by the horns, or don’t you wish you could go back and do things differently”.
In short, nope, I wouldn’t be here today, if it weren’t by the choices I’ve made in the past. I grew up a rebel. I chose life and self centered reason. I can always blame everything on lack of educational values in my home. I was forced to endure hours at a religious school, always questioning, “Why me lord“! Does that mean I am responsible for my naiveté as well? I always wondered, with the onset of a wonderful idea, does everyone else write, then erase, think it over and then write it again? Or more certainly and true with myself, with the onset of a wonderful idea; do we all write then erase, think it over then rewrite, again. Do we all repeat the same question De facto? If that’s the case, where do we go from here?
The “Inquiry”! Sounds pretty frightening! I’m going to shoot arrows in the dark again, and ask more questions of myself. What is the thought process behind this self acclaimed rewriteable brain philosophers keep trying to pull out of our hats, I mean our heads? When we find we’ve made a grave mistake, do we all erase simply because of error, or is it just me? I feel the majority of people will find out they do this one without one conscious thought. Like the rabbit being pulled out of a hat. It is no longer magical for them because of habits they have formed, opinion they hold or mind sets they cannot change. In my opinion, most people understand much less while most never even stop to think about their own mindsets or habits. They focus on faults of others first. When I read chapter 1 and 2 of Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder, I was impressed at my own ability to understand the passage when she states, “The only difference between us and the white rabbit is the white rabbit does not realize he is a part of the magic trick”. However, I must not get carried away with my own thoughts I habitually use. I’m so short sidled sometimes, I’m the only one who truly understands. Where is the bottom line and do we want to assimilate to the thoughts and views of our peers because we are frightened or we feel no one will “truly understand”. Why do I have so many questions? I can only speak from experience when I say I can connect, and disconnect thoughts as I choose too, and depending on the educational level of my peers. My brain has the ability to assimilate to the views of others depending on the circumstances.
It’s way easier to ask questions than it is to answer them. Another opinion I have formed individually is the fact that we can only rely on scientific method, what we are taught, what we hear, or how others react to us. We are always looking for someone who relate to thoughts the way we do. We’re always looking for our crew. For instance, if I were in class with my peers I would most likely hide my thoughts until they were brought up as part of the lesson plan. On the internet and in this class, I have the freedom to express my personal views on opinions I’ve formed without persecution of my identity, racial or otherwise. Philosophers ask questions searching for answers to questions much like a investigator does. They have to use certain facts like the police investigate crime. They determine circumstances by setting a value of events in human existence. They need to study thought processes of others, how they grow, and what set of circumstances were used in the process of thought to be concluded in other words, the eventual outcome.
It all comes back to habit. It would be extremely cool if we could levitate. That’s not to say because my mother didn’t believe we could levitate is the reason I stay grounded. But the idea my mind is constraining me is a more interesting concept. What if Jesus could actually walk on water? Those of you who actually witnessed him, or watched him would state the obvious fact of the matter, “Look Bud, I seen Him walking On the Water, I don‘t care what you say!“ But on a more devious level and off topic of religion, if I told my children the sky is red, and they were only allowed to experience my teachings, when my children got to college they would be shocked to know the rest of the world thinks the sky is blue. Their whole lives would change dramatically. It would horrify them wouldn’t it. It would horrify me for sure. There is little I can depend on; unlike my habits those are certain. My habits are my weaknesses and my strengths. The strengths keeps me on task in little ways. For instance, you know how much I would like to stay in bed, and let my little 5 year old get herself dressed, and drive to school. I don’t do it because it is my responsibility to do things the right way, the way my mother and father did it. Any other way with this situation would prove to be a failure. That’s the way it’s always been done. We are assured of so little at the ends of our lives, Death Tax is one of them, so pay close attention. With habits come responsibility, with the assurance you are not on a merry go round. Grab life by the horns and stick with the reality of the situation, ask questions, but don’t allow them to consume you. Question life in general, don’t just go along for the ride.
I didn’t know why Philosophers are consider natural born troublemakers (at times). If that’s the case I should already have a job. Because I happen to think I’m a trouble maker! I always question reality. Marching along to the beat isn’t my way of doing things. One example: I question politics and would rather watch CSPAN, than CNBC or Fox and Affiliates. I will not take for granted one word of what is said on the daily new hour or whatever mass media happens to be on. I always want additional sources of information so I won’t be responsible for missing a thing. I want to know what companies own the media corporations, how they influence my government, and what in the world are they thinking. I want to know who is in control of what I watch, what I hear, and who is teaching my children. Yes, I vote too! Does that make me a troublemaker. In today’s world again another big fat yes! That is almost a certainty. It has become the norm in America to just go along for the ride. As stated by our Commander in Chief, President Bush, who so eloquently put it, “If your not with us, your against us”. Scared the hello out of me. I just want to be an American, peer pressure and all, where‘s the line I’m going to get on board that crazy train. He never asks for my opinions, nor does he want my opinion. He has aligned himself with that of great power in commerce as well as politics. “Would you please pass the butter”, as so eloquently put on page 19, in Sophie’s World, by Jostein Gaarder. In my opinion, in the current state of affairs today Lady Liberty screams out loud, “Don’t Ask To Many Questions of Your Government”.
I have just one more question. So, why am I the troublemaker?

A Call To Patriots, December 23, 1776
From the Crisis
"Let them call me a rebel, and welcome, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of devils were I to make a whore of my soul by swearing allegiance to one whose character is that of a sottish, stupid, stubborn, worthless, brutish man."
-Thomas Paine
How could that be so true more than 200 years later?

Medical Marijuana Returned
Police and City Council in Grover Beach decide it's better to listen to the judge, instead of paying a whopping $56,000 fine. The fine is the final decision maker for City officials. Mayor of Grover Beach stated last night at the special meeting held for a Grover Beach man who won his case regarding medical marijuana.
Police Chief states "it was my decision to return the confiscated marijuana". The city understands their position, between Federal and State Law and the conflict involved. However, it is my opinion, the judge is more qualified to make that decision. The Mayor in the city of Grover Beach knows the city is on the verge of Bankruptcy, and lack of funding basically decide the case for the City Council last night.
In my personal opinion, they decided the case would go to Federal Court and they would still be required to return the confiscated marijuana, plus pay the large fine, and include the cost of lawyers and filing fees.
"it's just not worth it", the mayor remarked after closed session!
The fact still remains the Police Chief lost the case according to the Judge and the defendant, he was ordered by a judge to return the confiscated marijuana, and he could have faced obstruction of justice for failing to obey a court order. The Marijuana was returned within hours of the special meeting last night. The defendant however doesn't know if the marijuana which was confiscated over 1 year ago is still usable. The Marijuana was confiscated after a traffic stop and the defendant didn't have his medical marijuana card with him, they searched the vehicle and found the marijuana. All medical marijuana patients are required to carry their ID cards when they have their medication with them.

Choke on Hold Until Special Meeting Tonight
The Jeffersonian legal scholar St. George Tucker remarked about the definition of tyranny “We are standing at a threshold, when the federal government an become the final judge of the limits of it’s own power”
I don’t know what he would have thought to see the powers the local police officials refusing to uphold justice as ordered by the courts.
Although here:We are standing on a threshold today when a Police Chief in a small community town, overrules a local judges order in front of the public. We must never forget that we are sovereign states along side our big brother the government of the United States. We must see fit to proclaim our individuality as sovereign state. We elect those who represent us and they have done just that. Who is the Police Chief to overrule a judge without legal council? Have we reached an empty phase with our constitutional liberties? Have our liberties become dictated by Federal Limits and do they already have control of our City Police Chief? Where is our checks and balances?
I call a petition asking for the resignation of the Current Police Chief, on the basis he continues to obstruct justice, and the local court order rule in regards to this case.
Would the City Police Chief have us believe he is above the law, while upholding Federal law above State Law?
What is your duty to the people in response to Grover Beach Police Chief? Administrative secret meeting usually have something to do with wrong doings by appointed officials. Will they do the right thing and discipline the Police Chief for obstructing justice?
It’s in their hands, and we will see!
What’s going on with the first amendment, and how does that affect me? That is the question you should be asking, and Write what your told to Write. Unemployment doesn’t pay squat! The real story is left to be written!

When Grover Beach Police Chief Refuses to Give Back Medical Marijuana As Ordered By Local Judge
1/18/2007
To whom it may concern:
I have attached a few helpful websites to assist you in informing your decisions here tonight. I would ask also that these pages be allowed into the closed meeting tonight to help make a clear decision. I will be attending the special meeting tonight and I’m very hopeful about the results, and keeping in mind the judge has already made an order, the next one to obstruct justice would be the council.
Proposition 215 html
Gonzales Vs Raich PDF
States Rights Vs Federal Laws Just popped up when I was searching for this but interesting stuff who would have thought the Feds have the right to take over your city council too. Scary! Is that true too? Who's side is our Police Chief On?
State by State 2006 Medical Marijuana PDF This is a whopping 176 information packed state by state informative package created by Chuck Thomas and Richard Schmitz, revised by State Policies Dept out of Capital Hill, this is the informative one I was telling you about on the phone. It’s rather large, however, it’s broken down state by state.
This is why It’s so important for us to maintain our checks and balances as the people of the state. Interpretations of the laws is not an easy task, the police chief has overstepped his authority, it is up to the people to set it straight.
Thanks
Wish me luck tonight:
My Speech:
Good Evening Honorable Mayor
Madams/Sirs
Of the Grover Beach City Council:
We have come together tonight because of a Police Chiefs inability to obey a judges order making his action punishable by law. He is currently obstructing justice. We the people of the state of California passed proposition 215 Passed by 56% of voters in November 1996
In the city of Grover Beach, the police chief decides he is qualified to interpret State and Federal laws concerning Medical Marijuana. Ask your self why the people have changed their opinion of Police around the Country, when police chiefs refuses to uphold the laws of the land, while holding a public position. If it were My brother or I, we would be currently in the holding cell for obstruction of justice. He has taken a Judges order, crumbled it, and assumes he is not accountable to the people. I believe in this system. I believe this action is punishable by law, punitive against the not only this community, but the state of California. By your actions here today, and this special meeting, I have faith, this system of checks and balances can and will work.
Dear Sirs/Madams The people in the state of California, have declared their sovereignty as a State by voting in to law California Proposition 215, The People have spoken out like so many of our fellow States on important issues like health care, and insurance, Medical Marijuana and reach out within our quickly changing society and ignore the ignorance of past legislation, while changing it legally . Our generations is quickly putting corporation before the individuals, or the people. I will not get into the history of prohibition, but for those who are interested in the history of the prohibition it is available online at the many legitimate website concerning Medical Marijuana and it’s benefits. The people in the State of California have voted to overturn the federal law prohibiting patients from receiving treatment of medical marijuana, the people have decided to no longer jail citizens because of their choice of Medication. The people decided in 1996 to change a set of laws that were wrong at the core level.
The Grover Beach Police Chief has little authority in this matter, his job to interpret the law of the land is over, as a judge has ordered the return of Medical Marijuana to the individual as charged. The Attorneys have battled it out in a Democratic way, and the defendant won the case as ordered by a Judge. It is his duty to uphold state laws. He is an officer of the state. The pay he receives is given by tax payers in the state of California. There are currently 11 states currently protecting it’s people against the Federal Government by legislating Medical Marijuana. The Police Chief is behind the times when it comes to interpretation of State vs. Federal laws, and his attempts to challenge the local courts, and the People of the State, take away from his time he spends on the job. Therefore, he should do his job, as ordered by the Honorable Judge.
States have the right to mirror the federal laws or change them and create their own. As a jury to his peers, we are not different in this community. A State is Sovereign against the Federal laws when 2/3rd of the population vote to make change. A law in the state, will eventually change a law in the federal government. This area is very grey, the police chief is attempting to create his own Justice System. The Federal Government does hold The Supremacy clause which does supersede state law, when there is a conflict, there is no conflict in the state of California, because 2/3rds of the people have voted in favor of the law. There fore, the Supremacy clause and Federal Preemption doesn’t apply to medical marijuana, it was written for credit reporting, and credit laws. That’s the scariest part of this meeting tonight. Or is it the duty of a manipulate law, without legal council? I state here tonight, hopefully with the backing of the remainder of the community to state It is a Police Chief duty is to uphold the law of the states laws not to interpret them. If there is no justice tonight, and the police chief is allowed to run-a-muck without discipline from the people. He is truly above the law.

Media Reform
Take some time out of your daily life to check out the facts as given by qualified individuals, such as journalists, professors, lawyers, scholar's, and super wife's.
"Beneath the rule of men entirely great,The pen is mightier than the sword."-Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton (1803–1873)
How can this be?
How can your writings be the foundation for a Renewed Faith in America? I understand my position fully. Keeping in mind the facts and telling a story of massive media takeover. You have upheld journalists for years, they keep you informed on the facts. But, now you must now take the responsibility of informative writing into your own hands. You'll be surprised to know whats really going on! We've given up so many personal freedoms because of "The War on Terror". Americans still have a right to privacy, it's written in the constitution. While President Bush is adamant about ignoring the checks and balances our founding fathers wrote to protect us from this type of takeover. He advocates spying on Americans, opening our mail, secret programs, wiretaps, controlling what we see, and perceive. We have the right to raise issues. Today, we need to stand up, and be counted. The media is controlled, by the same people who approve of Bush. They are his Power Companies, those most interested in control! Power Companies are now running the country for Profit, backed by Bush, Cheney, Scooter Libby and the like!
The pen is the only way history can be written correctly in light of the media war going on. You and I are both required to draw the picture mass media refuses to paint. Ask me why you can't find an article on Clearwater, or Tribune?
I am not getting paid by anyone, I see the issues! I know what my duty is as an American is. The current Administration has taken my constitutional rights and privacy away, they squashed Habus Corpus, they have shredded my constitution. I need to step up to the plate, and show my checks and balances, as an individual of the state, and the country, and so do you. Have you seen the new grass roots bill, that could silence me, and you by charging us A $200,000 fine, just for blogging, speaking our opinion on political matters. I have protected speech. I can write my Congress and my Senators. I can encourage you to do the same. Do you wonder how long that will last? I do! It's at the Hill right now. They are debating now on how to stop Grass Roots Organizations from forming, by legislating how they form, or communicate with other.
That's reality babe'
Check this one out: Sen. Robert Bennett
A New Bill on Grass Roots Lobbying Movements Reads:
Section 220
The voluntary efforts to communicate with the general population on political issues encouraging Communicating with their congressmen or encouraging others to do the same.
We could receive criminal prosecution, without even stepping one foot in Washington.
This is why it is important to know the laws they are passing.
It's not the law, it's the interpretation of the law.
I want to thank my conscious, and those who stand behind me for what is and what should be. It's very tough for anyone, who dedicates hours without pay, to tell a story. I have begun my steps towards appropriate change. This is a story that should be written. It is not enough that you VOTE, you must now take up the pen, and this is a story that needs to be told.
Why do you need to know who is swaying your opinions, and telling journalists what they can and can't write? Think about it, and soon you will see there are a lot of people who are told to write what they are told. Why should you care? You should care because you are being manipulated.
Oh, and Fredrick Kagan, from the AEI is a very dangerous person! He wants to send as many America's as he can into Iraq, you should have seen the drool when he was speaking out on sending troops to Bagdad. Check out the tape on CSPAN. He scares the hell out of me for my children's sake. He wants to take Americans Youth, and put them in Harms Way! He has a glare in his eye that Says "DRAFT THEIR KIDS"
Write your congress and senators and tell them to stop the war on terror and the war on the America People.
Pick up your pen and write, something political, they can't put us all in jail. Or, maybe they could!

Be An Acountable American
Again, Fredrick Kagan comes to defend the AEI plan for building a new Iraq. He states that by going house to house securing the neighborhoods in Bagdad. Kagen says the people of Iraq want peace. I want to see the women and the children in this area prosper and see their streets secured and safely rebuilt. We need to educate the youth providing a safe and secure Iraq will eventually benefit everyone globally. But the military hasn’t been able to provide security after clearing neighborhoods. Without supporting the community after they clear it we leave the people to endure another takeover by radical groups. Kagen knows after the people feel secure the other Democratic processes can exist.
We have created a quagmire in Iraq. We cannot turn our back on the people of Iraq. The people of Iraq faced Saddam Hussein, they were restricted from the global community, because of their leader, but they were stable. The American people stood back and watched President Bush justify going to war in this region. We didn't choose to go to war? Congress wrote an open check. The majority of Americans didn't respond when they should have is the real reason. Do we have a responsibility to the Iraq people now? In today’s world, with our reputation in the dirt, we need to be proactive and be the world power we say we are. I agree, Bush and his greedy bunch put us in this position. But I am an Accountable American! We have a terrible reputation for destroying nations then leaving. We are turning our back on the rebuilding, there by teaching the children of destroyed neighborhoods we do not come in peace. If we leave, we are the enemy to these women and children. They will be easily recruited for terror cells, those who plot against the American People. We need to listen to our Generals for a change. It would be nice to see how the Chain of Command would react to this War! We also need to hold President Bush, and Vice President Cheney accountable for going to war in this region for profit. He didn’t have any proof before he went into Iraq, there were WMD. The U.N. wouldn’t back him, and he had to resort to the statement, “You are either with us or against us” As an American, I felt, I had to support him, or I would be Non-American. I should have stood up and said something then. But I don’t have a time machine. We need to show the global community we are responsible for our administration, and we will hold them accountable.
Kagen insists laying out this plan is the only way we can secure Iraq, unfortunately I agree. We, the People in America have created a problem in Iraq, according to the laws of war, we must assist in the rebuilding of this country. To rebuild, we must secure. By securing this area, our troops will work hand in hand with the Iraqi's clearing homes in Bagdad. Should we secure at least one area in Iraq before we leave, Yes. I think we should assist the people to see safety and stability in one area, it could grow. Democrats are willing to sustain troop levels. That's very dangerous to the military. The military needs to determine what it needs to win in this region. The troops need help now. Can we stop this Jawboning, and get down to business. Look at the situation outside the box. The women and children in this region depend on us for security, what could that hurt. If we leave with our tails between our legs, we are showing the fanatics‘. I don't want to see the people in Iraq, who depend on us, the ones who like us, to turn against us because they don't think I care. I want to stay long enough to ask them their opinions on the matter. We have seen this ethnical cleansing before with Saddam Hussein, if we leave it will be open season on those who supported us.

Our Safety HR1
It's nice to see Congress getting right to work. Especially knowing full oversite is back in the house. We have gotten to used to passing bills based on fear alone. We need to regain a whole lot of ground, and that starts with securing America. This bill has promise for both.
The speaker of the house Nancy Peloski has been involved on the ground level with the Iraq Report. She hails from California, a progressive state, where we grow strong women very well. California is the leader in Progressive Politics. Nancy Pelosi states "HR 1 provides real over site and protection of the American People"
Lee Hamilton points out, "The bottom line is that if this bill HR1 is enacted, funded and implemented the American People will be safer. The terrorist are plotting on the American people and will not wait, this bill is a question of urgency." Hamilton has felt very confused that so many of the commissions recommendations regarding Iraq have been ignored leaving him frustrated stating, "they need to be put into law sooner better than later". Hamilton states "This Congress needs to send a message, it is a priority for the safety of the American people"
Ben Thompson D-Mississippi Homeland Security Committee, Chairman, points out, "We are looking forward to the senate working for us." We needed a bill that allow first responders to communicate. Mr. Thompson states, "HR 1 is very important legislation", pointing out this program will secure airline travel with full air cargo screening in 3 years. He stated they are working with the Airlines to provide 100% baggage screening, within 4 years. Along with safer ports in 3 years. This Bill will require all agencies to share information and work with each other, in "fusion centers". By working together as a team effort with committee members, appropriations committee, and intelligence department, "in the spirit of lets get it done"
"Efforts will continue tomorrow to strengthen further committee's", says David Obey Rep. D-Wisconsin. Mr. Obey feels , "in the past the appropriation committee have been blocked by previous over site, in very delicate areas". For example, in the recent past, there was a separate Intelligence agency created by Rumsfield, who blocked the appropriations committee by appointing an independent agency and essentially going around congress is over. Mr. Obey feels this Bill will solve that problem. Stating they have followed the example of the taxation committee, "we will annually audit them so they are going well". Congress will have the ability to over site budget items included withing the intelligence community. Obey stated "We want the intelligence to understand they are dealing with the independent branch of government, it is our job to balance the other". The speaker of the house will also be involved as well as the appropriations committee over site.
Kirsten Gillibrand a new Rep in the house states, "This bill will increase the our intelligence by sharing information, and checking 100% of the containers that come into our ports, including checking every container for nuclear matter, and includes safety for our first responders."
This bill is going to be voted on tomorrow in the promised 100 hours of congress!
Tim Roemer feels American will be safer when this passes and is implemented, stating 110th congress is off to a great start.Things seem to be looking up. With congressional over site back in action, and Congress members sharing their ideas and debating can once again continue on the hill. It is very dangerous when all agree. We have lost so much over the last 6 years. We have thrown our constitutional rights along side Habeas Corpus head first into the quagmire with disbelief, a free America ever existed . Now, the ground must regained by this congress less Bush rear his decapitated head. There are many things to be hopeful about. Passing this bill is a big step for America. It deals with WMD by implements the 911 commission recommendations, Congressional Reform allowing congress to clean house, and strengthen congressional over site, and empower the committee members. Making progress of hearts and minds of the people around the world. We need to communicate to our allies around the world. Showing them we care what they think about us. Our enemy is changing quickly and we need to change with them, quickly responding to the changing world around us.

AEI Report Strategy Change in Iraq Includes More Troops
On a new front the American Enterprise Institute’s report continues to acknowledge we are going no where quick in Iraq. It looks like we have opened a Pandora box without a doubt. Ignoring the small fact President Bush is responsible for creating a huge debt for our children while increasing his net income, the American People must sacrifice more lives at the expense of Iraqi lives to increase our chances of winning in this region.
I'll say it one more time. Impeach Bush and Cheney, for crimes against the Iraqi people, and using the office of President to seek personal gains. It will remind our future leaders they cannot run our country into the ground.
Danielle Pletka from AEI states “America is now in Iraq and we must win…We can lose only if we choose to.”
Fredrick Kagen a resident Scholar states, “We need to get the situation in Iraq under control.” He wants to institute “Choosing Victory” suggested in phases. Phase I includes securing Baghdad. He knows the Iraqi’s people cannot develop democracy living in fear from sectarian violence. Kagen suggests troop commitment, a clear and hold policy focusing on the “Green Zone” where ethnical cleansing is rampant. building a Iraqi army is not working because the current Iraqi army is mainly sectarian and violence is stemming from these area’s to the population.
Securing the population is the first phase. They need 35,000 troops from 5 brigades, with flexibility and reserve to complete the mission. Kagen states, “We are facing an enemy who is trying to defeat us” He admits our current policy cannot deal with the escalating violence, claiming the AEI has a definable U.S. Policy in Iraq. As part of the plan we need to “project the worse case scenario plus more“. We cannot surge and leave the region. It is what the enemy expect from the nations. He projects with this plan 2007 will be a “bloody” year. What ever strategy we choose, we cannot withdraw from the situation, or it will get worse.
General Jack Keale (ret.)also stated , we need to secure the population by house to house sweeps again, because we cannot choose to lose in Iraq. By securing the people of Iraq, they will feel more secure to and focus on bringing democracy back to the region by voting without fear of secular violence. He stated by empowering the Iraqi people, the will support their cause. He also stated we must let the people know, we are working with both Sunni, and Shea . Also stating we are failing in Iraq because we could not protect the people. We need to secure 24/7. So we can provide basic services and begin the rebuilding process safely. He is hoping the Iraqi people will co-operate in turning in the “death squads” running rampant in the country.

“It’s a historic day for congress, and a historic day for women” Nancy Pelosi
The sky has always been the limit, although our counterparts didn’t want to admit it sooner. We do feel the urgency to act now. It is not just a feeling that I get. We need to change the media first and foremost. People in general need to see the challenges we face, without the media showing the facts we are without a voice.
We need to re-focus on Media groups forcing them to dedicate public service hours. We need to put freedom back into the peoples hands. We need to follow through on the promise to change our future for our children’s sake.
We are forced to sit on our hands and watch the environment decay. While President Bush tries to explain why he up-ed his profits while turning his back on the Kyoto Treaty. His profit levels are on an unspeakable level. While he takes away from our privacy, and freedoms.
Politicians on Health Savings Accounts and Congressional Agenda:
Make Heath Plans Available? Where do they think the money is going to come from again
SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS BACK BONE OF AMERICA OUR BACKS ARE BROKEN! Were going to have to outsource for cheap labor now too?
Force them to carry the burden:( Make loop holes for Big Business, Who in turn don't -even take care of their own. Who's Counting
